Assistant Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Michigan State University

Dr. Kelly Hirko is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, Traverse City Campus. As a cancer epidemiologist, her research focuses on identifying modifiable factors contributing to the unequal burden of cancer, particularly aggressive breast cancer subtypes such as young-onset and inflammatory breast cancers. Based on MSU’s rural campus in Traverse City, Dr. Hirko employs implementation science and community engagement approaches to promote evidence-based cancer prevention, early detection, and survivorship programs in under-resourced rural settings.
